Barrett has been at the shelter since July 17. He is neutered and tested negative for heartworms. He did have a parasite in his tummy and was losing some weight, but he was given medication and is now back to normal weight. "He needs rescue very soon as he has been here for four months," said Rachel Tabor with Cobb County Animal Control.

Here are two furry critters from Cobb County Animal Control who need a home and long for your affection.

If you wish to adopt either of these lovable pets, call 770-499-4136 or visit the shelter at 1060 Al Bishop Drive in Marietta. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Sunday, it is open from 2 to 5 p.m.

The $110 adoption fee includes:

  • Spaying/neutering
  • All vaccinations, including rabies
  • Deworming
  • Heartworm testing
  • Feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus testing for cats
  • A microchip

Those who are unable to adopt but still want to help can make donations in the form of dog and cat food, animal toys, sheets, blankets or treats.
