CouponMom.com Is Good Source for Deals

We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us make our dollars as valuable as possible.

Here are some that will hopefully stretch your dollars to the max:

1. CouponMom.com

Deal: Founded in Atlanta by Stephanie Nelson and favored by consumer advocate Clark Howard as his favorite coupon site, CouponMom.com shows weekly grocery deals by state. For Georgia, stores included are Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Ingles, Kroger, Publix and Winn Dixie. Registration is free.

Using Publix as an example for this week, coupons are doubled up to 50 cents. CouponMom.com updates the Publix list every Thursday when the store changes its prices.

Items at Publix this week include:

Air Wick Freshmatic Starter Kit on sale for $2.99, plus use a $3 Publix coupon from the March 27 Publix newspaper insert and the March 20 SmartSource coupon. The total coupon value is $4, so you get $1.01 back.

French's Spicy Brown Mustard 12 oz. is on sale for $1, plus use a 50-cent coupon from the Jan. 23 SmartSource newspaper insert that is doubled. The deal ends April 15. 

Mahatma Valencia Short Grain Rice 14 oz. is on sale for 99 cents, plus use a 50-cent coupon from Jan. 23 Red Plum newspaper insert that is doubled. The unadvertised deal ends April 30. 

Super Poligrip Free .75 oz is on sale for $2, plus use a $2 coupon from March 27 Red Plum newspaper insert. 

 

2. April Fool's Day Freebies

Deal: Funny stories and silly songs will be shared with school-age children in this free program at the Powder Springs Library at 4181 Atlanta Street in Powder Springs.

Deal:  Bunco will be played and prizes will be won from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday at the West Cobb Senior Center in Lost Mountain Park at 4915 Dallas Highway in Powder Springs. Registration for this free program is required.

3. Free Movie for Senior Citizens

Deal: Disney's Secretariat will be shown and popcorn will be served from 1:30 to 4 p.m. on Monday also at the West Cobb Senior Center. Again, registration is required an can be done by calling 770-528-8200.

 

4.  AARP Driver Safety Class

Deal: Also at the West Cobb Senior Center, AARP Driver Safety Classes will be offered next Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for nonmembers. Registration is required an can be done by calling 770-528-8200.

 

5.  Zumba Dance Classes

Deal: Also at Lost Mountain Park in Powder Springs, Zumba dance fitness classes with Latin music are offered for $4 each at the Ward Recreation Center. Times are 9:30 a.m. on Thursdays and 5:45 p.m. on Tuesdays. 

The first class is free. Participants pay as they attend each class. No registration or commitment is required.

Hey Carolyn,

I just visited Johnson Family Dentistry off of CH James parkway. They currently have a special that's good for $100 off. I was able to get work done on my mouth for a fraction of what other's quoted. Everyone seemed nice.

dont be flled by bilo printed coupons.even if they do say manufacture coupon they still can be used only at bilo.look in the area above the bilo ad and see can be only be redeemed at bilo. they fooled me
