Evelyn Mitchell Dies at 82
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory.
Evelyn Jane Mitchell, 82, of Powder Springs, passed away on Saturday.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
A lifelong resident of Cobb County, Mrs. Mitchell was raised in Smyrna and moved to Powder Springs 40 years ago. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Mitchell, in 1984.
Survivors include three children, Phyllis George and husband Ronnie of Dallas, Tony Brooks and wife Diane of Roswell, and Jeff Mitchell and wife Sue of Smyrna; sister Virginia Fortner of Dallas; brother Gene Johnson and wife Cora of Cumming; seven grandchildren, Chad George, Shannon Groover, David Brooks, Bonnie Brooks, Leslie Barfield, Cory Mitchell and Courtney Mitchell; and two great-grandchildren, Brayden and Marissa Groover.
