Farmers Market Offers Fresh, Local Produce
The downtown Powder Springs Farmers Market kicked off its summer Thursday.
Started in 2003, the downtown Powder Springs Farmers Market began its 2011 season Friday by showcasing local vendors' produce, baked goods, products and drink stands.
Every Thursday from 4pm-8pm, the market is open for business, featuring returning vendors from June through the end of September
The number of vendors is expected to grow as the crop season picks up, says Kim Peterson, an employee of the city’s Community Development office and the market’s coordinator.
The last Thursday of every month, the market will also offer live music. The first concert will be on June 30th with a live bluegrass band.
