Get Your 5Ks, Golf Tourneys and More on Patch
Don’t wait for spring to arrive to get the word out about your outdoor sporting events, fundraisers and other happenings—learn how you can spread the word with the help of West Cobb Patch.
The late-night low temperatures and this past weekend’s snowfall may make it hard to realize that spring is just over two weeks away, but with the incoming season comes the promise of warmer weather—and with it events aimed at inviting West Cobb residents outdoors.
If you’re trying to promote one of these outdoor events—whether it be a road race, golf tournament, parade, Easter egg hunt, etc.—Patch is here to help you get the word out. Here are the quick and easy ways to post these events on West Cobb Patch.
1. Place events on our calendar.
Navigate to the Events page and click “Add an Event” on the right side of the page. Tell us all the details about your upcoming event, then click “post my event” at the bottom of the page. If you include a photo, your event may appear on the front page of West Cobb Patch.
2. Make announcements in advance of your event.
Your event may be happening weeks from now, but perhaps you want to tell readers about early bird registration or an upcoming deadline. Or perhaps you’re seeking volunteers, donations or vendors. This is where an announcement comes in handy.
Announcements can be about anything you want to tell people. We want you to feel invested in Patch and the community, and this is an easy and quick way to do it. Add a photo, as well. It helps your announcement stand out.
Simply click the Announcement option under the News tab on the homepage. On the right side of the screen you’ll see the button “Add an Announcement.” This will you take you to Patch’s new announcement form. When you’re ready, click “publish my announcement” and it will go live to the site immediately.
Other things Patch allows and encourages you to post include births, school or community awards, job promotions and more.
3. Blog about your upcoming event.
Want to put out regular updates on how your event is coming? Perhaps our blogging platform is the best route for you.
Clicking this link will navigate you to the new blog post form where you share what you know. Blogs with photos can be included on West Cobb Patch’s homepage and are sometimes featured in Patch’s daily newsletter.
4. Upload pictures and videos of past events or preparations for your upcoming event.
We love getting photos and videos sent to us, especially those posted by you—the community—to our gallery. It's a place where everyone can quickly see images and films you hold near and dear.
You’re also welcome to upload photos or videos once you’ve held your event. It’s never too early to promote the next one, right?
5. Place an advertisement for even more exposure.
Lastly, if you’re seeking more visibility on our site, place an advertisement on Patch. Contact Ad Manager Katrina Hensley at email@example.com for more information.
