Memorial Day Service Brings Out Powder Springs Veterans
Powder Springs' American Legion Post 294 held its annual Memorial Day Ceremony Monday
American Legion Post 294 honored veterans and those currently serving at their annual Memorial Day Ceremony Monday at the Coach George E. Ford Cultural Arts and Community Center of Powder Springs.
Keynote speaker Chief Warrant Officer 4 Benny Lee Wyrick of North Georgia Military College as well as Powder Springs Mayor, Patricia Vaughn, spoke on the importance and history of Memorial Day. Among the 117 in attendance, seven were WWII veterans.
Powder Springs Police Department Color Guard performed the Presentation of the Colors and Aisha and Nikkei Bryant as well as Isaiah Rachel serenaded the crowd with patriotic music.

This is great. I'm thinking of the seven WWII veterans who were able to attend. Great job Stephanie giving those of us who missed the ceremonny a feel of the actual event intertwined with the words from some of the older veterans gave the video deeper meaning. Great job also by American legion Post 294. Just goes to show how connected and vital they are in
our community.

Wonderful piece, Stephanie! I thought you did a wonderful job mixing comments from the speakers (Mayor Vaughn and Chief Benny Lee Wyrick) with the WWII Veterans! Thank you so so much, everyone! I had a blast and everything was so perfectly put together by Post 294. I love working with the American Legion because everyone is always so welcoming and awesome.
