More School Calendar Proposals for Cobb
The Board of Education was presented with nine different options on Wednesday.
Sorting through nine calendar proposals for the 2013-14 school year will occupy a good bit of the Cobb Board of Education's time for the next couple of weeks.
That's how many different proposals were presented during Wednesday's work session. The board is expected to vote at its business meeting on Oct. 25, but the job of whittling down that list has become more complicated.
Board member David Banks and Superintendent Michael Hinojosa detailed their calendars prior to the work session.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, board member Alison Bartlett also has submitted a proposal (see attached PDF), as has a calendar committee created last year at the behest of Hinojosa, who said during the meeting he has no preference.

Dissatisfied with Cobb Schools

The super needs to quit trying to appease the staff with extra vacation time during the school year under the pretense of cutting the summer break because the kids forget so much info during the summer. Seems to me when the US was in the top for education in the world we got three full months for summer break. If the schools/teachers go back to teaching the basics and not just whats on the CRCT the kids would not forget what they did not learn in the first place.

Where can you find the proposed calendar that the committee submitted? What did they recommend? Do any of the current 9 proposals include theirs?
