Newt Expected To Nix Presidential Bid
The former House speaker is likely to announce the end of his run as a GOP contender Tuesday.
Winning his home state might have been the high point of Newt Gingrich's presidential campaign, which hadn’t been able to pick up steam since that victory on Super Tuesday.
Now, following a Tuesday where opponent Mitt Romney swept to easy victories in five primary states in the Northeast, the former Georgia congressman is likely to call it quits.
Early next week, the former House speaker is expected to put a formal end to his bid to become the Republican Party nominee. Two unnamed sources close to Gingrich said the former East Cobb congressman would suspend his campaign in Washington on Tuesday, CNN reported.
According to Fox News, a campaign source said Gingrich would then endorse former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum dropped out of the race earlier this month.
What do you think of Gingrich's decision? Tell us in the comments.

Actually, I think Newt is the best man for the job. He thinks outside the box and makes a lot of sense , particularly on energy, housing and big government. Unfortunately he is labeled from his previous baggage. It's too bad that Americans are so judgemental and don't vote for the issues at hand. However I think Romney is a good second choice. I voted for Romney because think he is our only hope for beating Obama. If the people vote Obama back in, than they deserve everything they going to get. This country needs to wake up and see what's happening. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

What are you talking about Roger? Obama got us out of a recession, lowered the unemployment rate, got us out of Iraq, killed Osama, saved the auto industry (Chyrsler announced its biggest earnings in 13yrs this morning) and a host of other things. But yeah, lets bring in another Republican to set us back another 20 yrs.
Oh, and by the way, im not a liberal or even a Democrat. Just someone with common sense.

Dave G (no common sense), you have been drinking too much liberal coolaid - Out of a recession? Are you kidding me, there are 2 Million more unemployed since Barry took office, they changed how the unemployment rate was calculated or it would still show 9%+, was 4.2% when Bush left, 1.5% GDP is anemic if not recessionary, the Navy Seals killed Osama under Bushes intel, Barry stole the auto industry from it's rightful owners (bond owners & shareholders) and gave it to the unions with our tax dollars while closing 7000 dealerships and putting thousands out of work because they hadn't donated to the Democrat party, and has driven the National Debt under the guise of "crisis" to 16 Trillion, in 3 years he increased the debt more than any other president combined and if not stopped will bankrupt our country and become our first dictator. Wake up and get some common sense!

Dave G This what I'm talking about. The real facts. The media and dems pad the numbers so they make themselves look good. Anyone with an ounce of intelligence could say Obama has done a good job. Keep in mind that everything (Barry) is doing is for the vote. Do you think The Post Office would not close the 3600 site if this wasn't an election year? Soneone whispered in Donahues ear. Wake up America.
