Olens Gets Prime Time Audience
The former Cobb commission chairman will speak tonight at the Republican National Convention.
Sam Olens appears to be ready for his moment in the national spotlight, after fine-tuning his remarks last night and rehearsing them on stage this morning.
His moment will be far less than 15 minutes—and he won't have the podium to himself.
But the former Cobb commission chairman and current Georgia attorney general welcomes the opportunity to address delegates at the Republican National Convention in Tampa tonight.
Around 8 p.m., Olens and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi will speak about federal government overreach, and what they claim is the expansion of government under President Obama.
Olens was an early supporter of GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, who will deliver his acceptance speech Thursday.
Olens' fellow East Cobber, U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson, is eager to hear what Olens has to say.
“He’s done a great job, he’s well-spoken and outspoken on important issues,” Isakson told Lori Geary of WSB-TV. "It’s going to be hard for a lawyer to keep it down to eight minutes.”

Olens has done a fine job as both Cobb commission chairman and as Ga. attorney general, then theres Sen. Johnny Isakson who I wouldn't trust to take out the trash.

I agree with 1/2 of what you said. I was actually sorry to see Sam run for AG because he did such a great job as Chairman. But since he has become the AG his tone has changed significantly from moderate to extreme and rigid.
