Pantless Woman Charged With Public Indecency

A 47-year-old Braselton woman is facing charges of public indecency, public intoxication, obstruction, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace following a Sept. 1 incident in Winder. 

According to a Winder Police Department incident report, an officer was dispatched to the area of West New Street and Sixth Avenue in reference to two intoxicated individuals arguing in the street. Exiting a patrol vehicle, the officer was executing a traffic stop on a white Jeep Grand Cherokee and observed a white female wearing no pants running away. Read more...

Robbery Suspect Killed in I-75 Chase

A suspect who allegedly robbed a Woodstock convenience store Sunday morning was shot and killed by police on Interstate 75 near the North Marietta Parkway, leaving southbound traffic jammed for most of Sunday afternoon.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported that the unnamed suspect led Cobb and Cherokee law enforcement on a chase from a Marathon station on Bells Ferry Road in Woodstock and down I-75, to just south of the North Marietta Parkway. Read more...

DeKalb Schools Warned Again

DeKalb County schools aren't out of thee weeds with an oversight accrediting agency, according to local news reports.

The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools are asking for a response from the board after numerous complaints from employees and the community, WABE reported this week. The schoool was already under review by SACS. Read more...

Man Charged in Georgia Tech Robbery

The Georgia Tech school police have charged Steven Terry with armed robbery, burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in connection with a much publicized on-campus incident in early July.

The arrest and indictment comes after an intensive investigation led by Georgia Tech police with the assistance of Crime Stoppers and the Atlanta Police Department. Read more...
