Powder Springs police Lt. Julie Collins made a traffic stop of a woman and her five children as they were looking for a place to park so they could sleep.

"Lt. Collins went out of her way to get a hotel room for the family and make sure they were well taken care of," according to the police department. "This act, along with her outstanding work as a patrol lieutenant, led to her being chosen as the July Employee of the Month."
