Edith Mae Page, 52, was arrested at her residence in the 4900 block of Brownsville Road Tuesday on a charge of simple battery. She made her $1,000 bond the same day. Page was running for one of two at-large seats on the Powder Springs City Council in last year's elections until she was disqualified on a 3-0 vote from the Cobb County Board of Elections and Registration. The disqualification came after a challenge was brought against her saying her 2010 and 2011 tax bills showed a homestead exemption on the Brownsville Road property, which is outside the city limits.
