Powder Springs Remembers Legacy of Rajaan Bennett
A memorial ceremony for the late McEachern student was held in the city square on Saturday.
Rajaan Jhakari Bennett, a Powder Springs resident and McEachern High School football standout who lost his life at age 18 in February 2010, was commemorated in the Powder Springs square on Saturday.
In a joint effort, the Powder Springs Community Task Force and Mayor Pat Vaughn introduced a memorial bench and plaque in honor of Bennett next to the square's fountain.
Many friends, family and those touched by Bennett's story came out to witness the unveiling.
