Powder Springs Woman Held in Stepfather's Stabbing

A 51-year-old man accused his 19-year-old stepdaughter of stabbing him Sunday evening.

A 19-year-old Powder Springs woman has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of her 51-year-old stepfather.

About 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Vince Anderson was walking along Powder Springs Road near Ponderosa Lane trying to flag down traffic.

"Officers arrived to find the male ... bloody as a result of several stab wounds in the areas of his left arm, head and back," said Maj. Matt Boyd with the Powder Springs Police Department.

Anderson told officers that his stepdaughter, Shaquioa Crawford, stabbed him during a domestic dispute at a residence in the 3700 block of Powder Springs Road, Boyd said.

According to a Cobb County criminal warrant, they argued over the location of an EBT card.

"The accused stated the victim grabbed her by the arm and tried to remove her from the residence," a Powder Springs police officer wrote in the warrant. "The accused admitted to removing a silver in color folding pocket knife from her pocket and striking the victim on the head and neck area causing cuts and lacerations to the victims head and neck."

Crawford allegedly stabbed Anderson some more in the front yard.

"The accused admitted to cutting the victim on the left arm area with the silver folding pocket knife," the officer wrote in the warrant. "The accused stated the victim then walked off and the accused returned to the residence."

Anderson was taken to WellStar Cobb Hospital with two puncture wounds to the left arm and one puncture wound to the back of his head. Boyd said this evening that Anderson has been released from the hospital.

Crawford was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault. She is being held at the Cobb County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $20,000 bond.

"Powder Springs detectives are still investigating this case," Boyd said.
