Mr. Ronnie Steve Carroll, Sr., age 69, of Powder Springs, passed away Monday, July 16, 2012. F

uneral Services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Macland Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Macland Cemetery. He will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. 

A native of Rome, Mr. Carroll moved to Powder Springs in 1973. He retired from Lucent Technologies (formerly Bell South/AT&T), and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp., having served six years. He was a member of the Oostanaula Masonic Lodge #113 in Rome since 1970, and was currently serving as the Senior Ministry Director of the Macland Baptist Church “Good Timers”. 

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Vera Skelton Carroll; two sons, Ronnie Steve Carroll, Jr. of Powder Springs, and Bryan Scott Carroll and wife Kelly of Bowden; four grandchildren, Nathan, Shelby, Jacob and Hadley; and a host of other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Macland Baptist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta. The online guestbook is at www.westcobbfuneralhome.com.
