Tapp Middle Announces New Principal
Jeanne Walker has officially taken the helm after serving as acting principal following the paid leave and eventual firing of Jerry Dority.
Jeanne Walker was officially announced as the principal of Tapp Middle School last week.
Walker was a curriculum assistant principal at Sprayberry High before beginning as Tapp's acting principal on Feb. 13.
Last week's announcement was made by Cobb Area 6 Superintendent Angela Huff at the school’s Teacher Appreciation Breakfast, sponsored by the PTSA. She comes in as Tapp is going through renovations (see attached photos).
"Many of the school’s supporters have welcomed Dr. Walker to the community," a release from the school says.
The former principal, Jerry Dority, was placed on leave and eventually fired by the Cobb Board of Education earlier this year for an alleged delay in reporting possible abuse toward a student.
