With the start of another state legislative session, the inauguration of the President, and the gridlock in our Congress, I thought that these words of wisdom from the Girl Scouts are worthy of sharing as a guide to our elected leaders and to every one of us:
Leadership vs. Bullying
Some young people (and adults) confuse bullying with leadership. They are very different.
A bully uses her power in negative ways................A leader brings about positive change.
A bully threatens other people..............................A leader makes others feel comfortable.
A bully wants others to obey without question.......A leader encourages others to ask questions and find solutions.
A bully acts to exclude certain people....................A leader works to include and support others.
