City Celebrates Country's Independence

The 16th annual Independence Day Celebration filled the streets of Powder Springs with vendors, first-timers and regulars—until the rain halted festivities.

Locals and vistitors of Powder Springs enjoyed a day filled with music, fun and food—that was until the rain began.

Before roughly 7:30pm, when pop-up thunderstorms halted the celebration, live music by The Mustangs and Scott Thompson filled the air and children enjoyed inflatable slide and games.

East Coast Pyrotechnics of Catawba, SC had already began to set-up for the city's famous fireworks show before the storms, which forced the cancellation of the show.
