Freezing Temps Before a Warm Weekend

West Cobb is expected to see the low temperature drop to 27 Wednesday night, but Saturday's high could reach 71.

Cobb is one of several counties included in a hazardous warning statement due to expected freezing and near-freezing temperatures in north and central Georgia tonight and the coming nights.

The National Weather Service warns of temperatures in the mid 20s to low 30s in the region. Tonight, in West Cobb, the mercury is expected to dip to 34, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

Wednesday’s high temperature in West Cobb is expected to reach 52 under sunny skies and winds of 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. The night’s low is anticipated to get down to 27.

But it won't be cold for long. Heading into the weekend, Cobb should warm up a lot. NWS forecasts Saturday's high to reach 71, with the weekend’s lows dipping only to about 50.
