Commuter Open House, Teen Drinking Program
Information on changes for commuters using Windy Hill to access I-75 and a dramatization of a teen drinking party are some of the events you may want to attend through Saturday.
1. J. Tom Morgan, children's advocate and author of Ignorance Is No Defense: A Teenager's Guide to Georgia Law, will speak to parents and members of the community Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium. The first 100 families who sign in will receive a free copy of the former district attorney's book.
2. Preschool Story Time at Powder Springs Library is Wednesday from 3:30p.m. to 4p.m. The library is at 4181 Atlanta St, Powder Springs, GA 30127 Website: http://www.cobbcat.org/branchPowderSpgs.html Phone: 770-439-3600
3. On Thursday from 4p.m. to 7 p.m. a public hearing open house will be held on the Powder Springs Road at Cheatham Hill/Callaway Road intersection project. The event will be at Miller Park, Building A, 2245 Callaway Road, Marietta. For more information, call Cobb DOT at 770-528-1621.

4. Book signings Saturday at the in downtown Powder Springs:
- Kennesaw Taylor, author of I'm Ugly and Broke, signs his latest release, The Redneck Cooker: A Deep Down Southern Cookbook, from noon to 2 p.m.
- Children's book author Vanessa Lee discusses and signs her new work, Funny Jimmy, alongside Annette Laing and The Snipesville Chronicles, fom 2 to 4 p.m.
5. Also on Saturday, the Cobb Alcohol Task Force's Youth Council presents "Youth Know the Truth: Inside an Underage Drinking Party." A guided tour and re-enactment of an underage drinking party at a private home.
