Is Summer Break Too Short?

Students in Cobb, Douglas and Paulding counties are now enjoying their summer breaks. Tell us if you think your school district's calendar works for you, or if you'd prefer a longer summer.

The summer is now officially underway for many students in the metro Atlanta area.

Students in Cobb County Schools closed the books on another year Thursday, May 23, while pupils in Paulding County Schools headed home for summer break a day later.

Students in Douglas County are among the latest to begin their summer vacations—they had their last day of school Friday. They’ll start a new school year Wednesday, Aug. 7.

Aug. 7 will also serve as the first day of school for students in Cobb. Their peers in Paulding, however, will be nearly a week ahead of them, as their school year begins Thursday, Aug. 1.
