1. "HONK!" HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL

Find out what's happening in West Cobbwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

Where/When:  at 2520 East County Line Road, 7 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday

Why Go: "Honk!" is the story of Ugly the duck, whose odd, gawky looks instantly incite prejudice from his family and neighbors. Separated from the farm and pursued by a hungry cat, Ugly must find his way home. Along his journey, he discovers his true beauty and glorious destiny but also finds love and acceptance.

Price: $8 for adults and $5 for students and children. Group tickets also are available.

 

2. DOUGLAS COUNTY BAND FESTIVAL

Where/When: Douglas County High School at 8705 Campbellton Street in Douglasville, 6 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday

Why Go: Douglas County's middle and high school bands will demonstrate their skills and mastery of music. The bands' performances will be judged by professional musicians. 

Price: Free

 

3. FREE COBB SUMMER CAMP EXPO

Where/When: Cobb Civic Center's Hudgins Hall at 548 South Marietta Parkway in Marietta, Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: This one-stop shop for summer camp programs for your children will be stocked with booths of free information about day camps, art camps, church camps, overnight camps and performing art programs. Door prizes also will be given away. 

Price: Free

 

4. COBB BOOK SALE

Where/When: Jim Miller Park's Exhibit Halls A and B at 2245 Callaway Road in Marietta; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Why Go: Among the sale items will be hardbound and paperback books for children, young adults and adults; books on tape and CD; records; magazines; CDs and comic books. All proceeds will be used to buy new books and other library materials for the Cobb County Library System.

Price: Free to enter, item prices vary 

 

5. STORY TIME

Where/When: , every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Story time at the library is interactive and . Along with helping children learn, it also allows them to mingle with others their age. For a photo gallery of a past story time, .
