McEachern Memorial to Host Consignment Sale

The event at the Methodist church is set to begin Thursday and continue through part of Saturday, when many items will sell for half price.

We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us make our dollars as valuable as possible.

Here are some deals that hopefully will stretch your dollars to the max:

1. Children's Consignment Sale in Powder Springs

Deal: The Twice Blessed Children's Consignment Sale will begin Thursday and continue through part of Saturday. Many items will sell for half price on Saturday from more than 200 sellers.

These sales are held each spring and fall. No strollers are allowed because of fire safety codes. 

Hours: Thursday, 5 to 9 pm.; Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  

Location: Gym, , 4075 Macland Road, Powder Springs (corner of Macland and Lost Mountain Roads near Kroger).

2. New Life Christian Preschool Consignment Sale 

Deal: This public sale will benefit the church's preschool ministry. Admission is free.

Cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Strollers are welcome.

Hours: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday; 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday.

Location: New Life Christian Church, 5897 Prestley Mill Road, Douglasville near Interstate 20.

3. DC Kids Consignment Sale

Deal: More than 110 sellers will participate this weekend. This semi-annual sale benefits cancer organizations. Quality infant, children's and junior clothing plus shoes, toys and baby equipment will be sold. New and gently used scrapbook supplies and tools will also be offered.

This event is free and open to the public. Cash, checks and all major credit cards are accepted. Still needed, volunteers will receive a preview pass to the private Wednesday evening sale.  

Hours: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday.  

Location: Old Monkey Joe's, 7442 Douglas Boulevard just past Home Depot and Garden Ridge, Douglasville.

4. Bargain Watcher Website

Deal: The Bargain Watcher website lists many kinds of sales in Cobb and Douglas counties, as well as throughout the state. All sales can be searched by month, date, title, location or keyword.

You can find yard sales, curriculum consignment sales for homeschooling families, and fall consignment sales. Also with the free Watchlist, you can post an item to sell or buy for free.

 

5. Fabulous Freebies

Deal: Kiplinger.com lists 31 ways you can secure free deals.
