It was a little bit of sound and fury, but in the end, Monday afternoon’s threat of severe weather was just that—merely a threat.

Tornado sirens went off in West Cobb just after 6 p.m. Monday, and before it was over, residents saw some wet weather as well as some hail. West Cobb Patch Editor Jon Gargis heard heavy winds and saw pea-sized hail rain down on his home in the Fair Oaks community. Others in nearby areas experienced similar conditions.

Monday’s weather conditions, according to the National Weather Service forecast, says showers remain likely this evening, mainly before midnight. The overnight temperature is expected to drop into the mid 40s.

Sunny skies are expected to return Tuesday, with the day’s high expected to just pass the 60-degree mark. But count on some wind to accompany the sunshine, as meteorologists say we’ll get 10-15 mph winds with gusts as high as 25 mph.
