Charlotte Black, a 61-year-old Dallas resident, won $1 million from an Extreme Green scratch-off ticket she bought at the Grands convenience store at 6435 Hiram Douglasville Highway in Powder Springs.
“It feels wonderful,” Black, a housewife, mother and grandmother, told the Georgia Lottery.
Black scratched the ticket in the store’s parking lot and went inside to confirm the news, according to a release from the Georgia Lottery. The release does not say when the ticket was purchased, but the photo handed out with the announcement includes a big check with a date of March 24.
Representatives from the lottery were not immediately available.
“It’s a good thing the store wasn’t crowded because I was screaming,” Black said.
Black and her husband, David, a Georgia Power control wireman, are deciding how to use the winnings.
