Updated: West Cobb Teen Found Safe

Maggie Adams, 16, had been missing for two weeks.

The mother of the West Cobb teen said she is “very relieved” that her daughter was found by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office late Tuesday afternoon.

Maggie Adams, 16, had last been seen on April 10 at her Marietta school, Cobb Performing Learning Center. Her disappearance resulted in a widespread search that included flyers, an explosion on Facebook and Twitter, and stories in area media.

“We would just like everybody to know how grateful we are and how amazed we are at how many people stepped up,” said her mother, Sally Miller.

Adams was found in a house in Woodstock—the city her classmates said she might be headed to—after someone recognized her and called the police, Miller said.

Miller didn’t have any other details other than police “said she looks great and was very cooperative” when they arrived at the house.

The family, which lives in the Rosemont neighborhood off Dallas Highway, hasn’t seen or talked to Adams yet because she was placed in the Cobb Youth Detention Center for a probation violation, Miller said. But they are planning to see her this weekend, she added.
