The heaviest snowfall would be in the northeast Georgia mountains.

The winter weather advisory, which lapses Friday morning at 7, warns of light snow and black ice north of a Carrollton-to-Atlanta-to-Jefferson line and south of a Rome-to-Hiawassee line.

Less than 1 inch of the white stuff is expected to accumulate on grassy and elevated surface and could create nuisance driving conditions. Black ice also may form Thursday night and Friday morning when temps dip below freezing.
