ATLANTA MARKETING VIDEOS: HOW TO EMBED YOUTUBE VIDEOS ON YOUR WEBSITE AND IMPROVE YOUR SEO

So you've produced a great video, uploaded it to YouTube, and you're ready to add it to your website.  Now what?  In this blog we'll show you how to add your YouTube video to your website so that you can increase your SEO and get the biggest bang for your buck.  Don't worry, it's just 5 simple steps:

Here's the best way to add a YouTube video to your website:

1) Under the video on YouTube - click the "Share" button

2) Click the "Embed" option

3) Uncheck the "Show suggested videos when the video finishes" box

4) Check the "Use old embed code" box

5) Copy the HTML code (the code highlighted in blue) and add it to your website

Viola! You're done.

(note: you can adjust the size of your video by changing the width and height values of the HTML code.

Further Explanation:

Why uncheck the 'show suggested videos' box?
The 'suggested videos' display additional videos at the end of your video.  These videos are usually contain similar content as your video and most often are videos of your competition.  Well, you don't want to provide free advertising for your competition so it's best to just uncheck the box.

Why use the 'old embed code'?
The new embed code (which was released in 2010) creates an "iFrame".  iFrames aren't "searchable" by search engines.  The 'old embed code' creates on "object".  An object is good ol' fashion HTML code and is still loved by the search engines.  By embedding this code onto your website, you're giving the searching engines a little more information about who you are and what you do; thus helping your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) efforts.
