Another Business Moving into Downtown Powder Springs

Darcy's Botanicals has been online-only for nearly four years but will soon have a home in the heart of the city.

Lysandra Taylor had driven through downtown Powder Springs several times, keeping an eye out for a brick-and-mortar spot for her home-based online business.

Then, she spotted and wanted to go in for some tea. But with the business—as well as its adjoining partner, —, Taylor noticed a “For Rent” sign and wanted to know more.

After seeing the elaborate woodwork in the coffee shop completed by the owners of the building and businesses, Larry and Joan Evans, Taylor knew it was the perfect location for her beauty boutique, Darcy’s Botanicals.

“We’re basically a home-based hair and body care business mainly for curly and natural hair—afro-texture hair, multi-ethnic hair,” she said.

Joan Evans said she’s glad someone is moving into the vacant space. “It means a lot to me. I’m glad someone is excited about coming in.”

With the help of her family—“they’re not official partners cause I can’t afford them,” she joked—Taylor creates all her own products, including conditioners, perfumes, body oils, moisturizers and more.

Named after her daughter, Darcy’s has mainly a female clientele but has been growing in the male market. “All of the ladies have been emailing us saying, ‘My husband uses this,’” Taylor said.
