New Jobs, Grocery Option Coming to Marietta

A new Walmart Neighborhood Market on Canton Road brings employment opportunities to Marietta.

A new Walmart Neighborhood Market will open on Friday, March 29, after a brief ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7 a.m.

The new store, approximately one-fourth the size of a Walmart Supercenter, is located at 3372 Canton Road in the Blackwell Square Plaza.

It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“Walmart is known for its community partnerships and being a good neighbor. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the Walmart team in bringing this store to fruition.”

The store features prepared food options, a self-serve deli and a bakery.

The Blackwell Elementary School Choir, J.J. Daniels Middle School Drum Line and soloist Brittee Camelle will perform at the grand opening ceremony. Pastor Nathan Nielson of the Town Center Community Church will lead the invocation, and members of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce will cut the ribbon.

Doors to the new store will be open to the public following the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Special events on grand-opening day, and continuing through the weekend, include character appearances, product giveaways and samplings, and various entertainment events.

The new store will employ approximately 90 full- and part-time employees.
