New Shop Sweetens Powder Springs

Lily Torte Baking Company opened its doors downtown this week, selling 150 cupcakes during its first day.

Owned and operated by cousins Lindsey Hazard and Erin-Renee Sierra, the offers fresh cookies, specialty cupcakes and a warm atmosphere.

More of a family endeavor than just a business, the shop is named after Lindsey's daughter, Lily.

After struggling with renovations of the building on Marietta street in downtown Powder Springs, the cousins were finally able to open their doors and welcome customers for the first time on Thursday.
