WellStar, Marietta Partner on Community Health Initiative

The Live Well Marietta Kick-Off Event will be held Saturday at the Marietta Farmer's Market on the Marietta Square.

The city of Marietta and WellStar Kennestone Regional Medical are teaming up on a community wellness initiative for those who live and work in Marietta. 

Live Well Marietta will provide an array of health programs and services, with the goal of identifying and reducing health risks, while empowering people to make healthy lifestyle choices.

The Live Well Marietta Kick-Off Event will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Marietta Farmer’s Market on the Marietta Square. 

At this family friendly event, Live Well Marietta will offer free biometric screenings, complimentary seminars, a cooking demonstration using healthy, locally grown ingredients and group fitness activities.

WellStar and the city of Marietta will host quarterly Speaking about Wellness for the Community events where community members can hear about various health topics. 

There will also be lunchtime yoga classes on the second Tuesday of every month, beginning Sept. 10.

“We are excited to enter into this partnership with the city of Marietta to create healthier lifestyle options for those in the local community. Live Well Marietta is a fun and exciting, close-to-home opportunity where families can learn about the many facets of a healthy lifestyle,” said Cecelia Wagoner, assistant vice president of corporate and community health for WellStar Health System.
