West Cobb Shop Wins 'Cupcake Wars'

Patricia Katopes, the owner of Patty Cakes Cupcakes, is the second baker in the county this year to take the crown on the Food Network show.

The owner of a West Cobb cupcake shop defeated three other masters of the sweet treats to win the episode of the Food Network’s Cupcake Wars that aired Sunday.

Being a contestant on the show “was the hardest thing I’ve ever done,” Patricia Katopes, the owner of Patty Cakes Cupcakes on Due West Road, told the Marietta Daily Journal. “It was very intense. It was a surreal experience.”

Katopes, who earned the title of Miss Atlanta in 1989, held a viewing party for the show Sunday featuring 700 of her cupcakes, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
