Campaign Lessons on How to be a Good Republican

I learned a lot from my run for district attorney, the most important of which was we need to work hard to elect good Republicans to office.

I know it’s been over two months since the end of my campaign for District Attorney. I felt I should take the time to understand the message that was spoken by the voters of Cobb County, and more important I needed some time with my family, friends, and law practice to transition from campaign mode back to being a normal citizen.

First, I want to express my deep respect for our incoming District Attorney. Vic Reynolds deserves our respect, congratulations, and assistance. While we had some differences on select issues in the campaign, I look forward to seeing Vic serve the taxpayers and residents of Cobb County with the commitment to public service they deserve. He will be a wonderful District Attorney and public servant, and I have no doubt he will continue the strong work all employees in that office perform to serve Cobb County.

I owe a great number of people a lot of thanks for the words of encouragement and support I received during the course of this campaign. More than most, I’d like to specifically say thank you to my wonderful husband Eric for being a pillar of support during the long campaign season, and my children Justin, Devon, and Kylie for being eager campaign workers, too. I also owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to my campaign staff Tre Wiggins, Tori Wester, Will Kremer, and most notably my campaign manager, Jessica Szilagyi.

Secondly, I learned the importance of serving as a dedicated Republican during this campaign. The men and women of our party put in a tremendous amount of work building and protecting the Republican brand in Cobb County, the State of Georgia, and across this county. I feel proud of the work my campaign did during the election season. I knew win or lose I’d still be part of the Republican team.  I encourage every one of you to contact the Cobb Republican Party today to find out ways to get involved in this important election cycle and beyond.

Going forward, we just just under a month until Republicans can help elect Mitt Romney as President. We absolutely need a change in the White House from our current administration. Don't forget our local candidates, though. Hunter Hill needs our help in Cobb County for the 6th Senate District. Sam Teasley and Phil Daniel are in tough races for the 37th State House and 41st State House Districts, respectively. Our volunteer hours are desperately needed to keep the seats that are Republican and win new seats for our majority.

Once again, thank you. I look forward to seeing you again soon, and most importantly, working to elect good conservative Republicans up and down the ticket.
