Harper to Pass Through Lithia Springs
The Marine lance corporal was killed in action on Thursday in Afghanistan.
Marine Lance Cpl. Scott Daniel Harper will pass through Lithia Springs Thursday on his way to Douglasville from the Fulton County Airport.
Harper, a 21-year-old from Winston, in Afghanistan on Thursday.
He died while conducting combat operations in the Helmand Province, according to a news release from Douglas County.

Accompanied by members of the Marine Corps and his family, Harper will land at Fulton County Airport Thursday morning. A Marine Corps Honor Guard will escort him off the plane, and a procession will leave the airport at 11:30 a.m. to bring him to Douglas County.
Below is the procession's route. Times are estimated, and the motorcade could be 10 minutes on either side of the stated time based on traffic flow, motorcade speed and other factors.

The public is invited and encouraged to salute the service along the processional route. Harper will be accompanied by the Douglas County Sheriff's Department, the Douglasville Police Department, the Patriot Guard, the American Legion Riders, and friends and organizations associated with the family.

Harper's family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday from 1 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 3 p.m. at Ephesus Baptist Church at 8445 Ephesus Church Road in Villa Rica. Interment will follow at the Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery will full military honors.
