HOT HOT HOT, Macaroons and Stories

Here's everything you need to know today before ever leaving the house.

1.) Well, it's back to work. I know. I know. But at least you're already one day down. And besides, who wants to be outside today....enjoying the ocean or a cold brewsky around the grill with neighbors...ah I digress. But seriously it's going to be HOT HOT HOT. The National Weather Service is predicting a high of 94 with a low of only 68. It is still May right?

2.) Need to fill up before heading back to work. The cheapest gas in Powder Springs, according to alantagasprices, is $3.61 at the Kroger on Macland Road at the intersecton with Lost Mountain Road.

In Lithia Springs, the cheapest is $3.59 at Marathon, 131 Maxham Rd. & Old Alabama Road.

3.) The Powder Springs City Council will meet Wednesday night for a work session that could involve the upcoming budget. The 5 p.m. meeting will be in the second floor conference room, Town Hall, 4484 Marietta Street Powder Springs, GA 30127.

4.) It's pre-school story time at the Lithia Springs library at 10:30 a.m.

5.) And lastly, it's National Macaroon Day, honoring, of course, the macaroon, a flourless cookie. It is popular among the Jewish community, especially during Passover, when Jews can not cook with flour. But, the popularity of the Macaroon doesn't stop there. It is also enjoyed around the world.
