Job Search Workshop on Tuesday

Other happenings scheduled for this week include SPLOST voting and a Douglas County Board of Commissioners meeting.

1. Douglas Commission meeting. The Douglas County Board of Commissioners is set to have a work session on Monday at 10 a.m., followed by a legislative meeting on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Both meetings are at the Douglas County Courthouse at 8700 Hospital Drive in Douglasville. The agenda is attached to this article.

2. SPLOST voting. Months of debating will come to a head on Tuesday when Cobb County voters head to the polls to cast their votes for or against the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax. No early voting will take place Monday. You can check your voter registration status and polling place at Secretary of State Brian Kemp’s website. 3. Weather. The forecast from the National Weather Service shows some gloomy skies on Monday and Tuesday, with the sun coming out by Wednesday.

4. Children's consignment sale. Available will be all things children: clothing, toys, baby items, furniture, outdoor play equipment and more. Proceeds benefit Bright Star Preschool, a nonprofit early childhood education ministry of Bright Star UMC. The sale is at 3715 Bright Star Road in Douglasville. The scheduled times are Thursday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

5. Job search workshop. The Georgia Department of Labor is scheduled to host a job search workshop at the at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. Guidance, referrals, federal training programs and more will be offered. For more information, call 770-439-3600.
