Possible Demolition for Historic UGA Dorm

Rutherford Hall was built in 1939.

1. Powder Springs Budget, Police Chief. The Powder Springs City Council is scheduled to have a work session tomorrow at 3 p.m., followed by a special called meeting. At that meeting, the second reading of is expected to take place. Also, a police chief is set to be named.

2. Cobb County Board of Commissioners. The board is scheduled to have a work session today at 1:30 p.m. at 100 Cherokee St. in Marietta, followed by its regular meeting at 7. The work session's agenda is attached to this article.

3. Weather. The forecast from the National Weather Service shows that showers and thunderstorms are likely between 2 and 8 p.m. High: 92/Low: 70

Possible Demolition for Historic UGA Dorm. In documents sent to State Historic Preservation Division of the Department of Natural Resources, the UGA Office of University Architects shared its plans to demolish Rutherford Hall and replace it with a new building.
