Thunderstorms Possible Through Tonight

But the National Weather Service says the bulk of the storm is expected to miss Georgia.

A few thunderstorms and possibly isolated severe thunderstorms are expected to pass over Cobb, Douglas and several other North and Central Georgia counties this afternoon and tonight.

“The primary hazards from the thunderstorms will be cloud-to-ground lighting,” according to the National Weather Service’s website. “Some of the stronger storms could produce nickel- to quarter-sized hail and gusty winds—mainly between noon and 10 p.m.

But the main portion of the storm is expected to pass “well north of Georgia,” the Weather Service says.
