Week's High Temps Mostly in 60s

The days are forecasted to be beautiful for the various government meetings that are scheduled.

1. School calendar survey: The Cobb County Board of Education is asking citizens to give their input on the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school calendars. The board to launch the online survey Friday. Voting will be allowed through Thursday. Click here to go to the poll, which explains each of the calendar options.

2. Douglas Commission meeting: The Douglas County Board of Commissioners is scheduled to have a legislative meeting Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Douglas County Courthouse at 8700 Hospital Drive in Douglasville. The board will have a work session on Monday at 10 a.m. at the courthouse to discuss the meeting’s agenda.  

3. Weather: The National Weather Service has the word “sunny” in the forecast every day this week, with high temperatures mostly hanging around the 60s.

  • Tuesday—Sunny. High: 62/Low: 35
  • Wednesday—Mostly sunny, with a few clouds moving in at night. High: 60/Low: 39

  • Friday—Mostly sunny, with clouds moving in at night. High: 70/Low: 49
  • Saturday—Mostly sunny. High: 67

4. Book signing: Homer Sewell, author of the biography Image in the Mirror: A Man's Personal Life Journey Whilst Portraying Abe Lincoln, will be at the on Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m.

5. Cobb zoning: The Cobb County Board of Commissioners is set to have a zoning hearing at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at 100 Cherokee Street in Marietta.
