Journey Through Bethlehem - Burnt Hickory Baptist Church

Burnt Hickory Baptist Church invites the community to escape the stress of holiday shopping and festivities and come take a stroll through the past at Journey Through Bethlehem. The church is presenting a live historical village set at the time of Jesus’ birth. Guests will enter the church building through a 3,200 square foot white tent, where they will be greeted by people dressed as Roman soldiers and shopkeepers. Guests will be given a cup of hot cider or hot chocolate and will also receive a replica coin to pay the "tax Collector." Guests will proceed inside the church building to tour the rest of the village. After the village tour, guests enter the worship center to see performances from Burnt Hickory's choirs, the praise band, orchestra and Soul to Sole Dance Ministry. There will be four performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday December 7th-9th. The village will be open nightly from 6:00 pm -7:15 pm.  A dramatic and musical program, including a live Nativity Scene follows at 7:15 pm.  A special matinee performance will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm with the program beginning at 3:15 pm. This event is free and open to the public and will take place rain or shine inside.
