R.E.A.D. is all about Reading to Explore Adventures and Dreams. Help children to develop reading skills and a love of reading by allowing access to books in their homes. Many of us had books we read as children and had as favorites. Remember the joy that came from reading a good book, looking at the pictures and allowing our imaginations to run free. The joy of reading is the many adventures you can take that doesn't cost a dime. Visiting places that you've seen on the television or in movies but have no idea where they are. The creativity the comes from a mind that is stimulated through words and pictures. Unfortunately, many children don't have that accessibility. There are many homes where children don't have books, access to them and/or access to the library. This is an opportunity to provide children the option to choose books of their very own. The opportunity to travel far distances and experience adventures beyond their wildest dreams. The opportunity to dream. Books they can read as often as they like and enjoy repeatedly. Your donation will provide at least 50 children/families to enjoy books of their own choosing in the privacy of their homes. They will participate in a reading day marathon and leave with 2 books for their own library.
