Local Infant Needs Surgery to Correct Birth Defect, Walk

In this season of giving, we're spotlighting local online fundraising efforts.

Editor's note: Patch is partnering with GoFundMe to bring the West Cobb community local stories of people in need.

Jordyn Doakes is an Austell infant who was born with a birth defect called Tibial Hemimelia, which means her shin is missing. While the usual treatment is amputation, there is a corrective surgery that could allow her to walk one day.
Her family has started a GoFundMe campaign for the $100,000 needed for the treatment. Learn more about Jordyn's journey and how you can help here.
