David Treadway Dies at 73

The Lithia Springs man retired from Metro Brokers as a realtor after serving in the Douglas County area since September 1965.

David Henry Treadway, a 73-year-old Lithia Springs man, passed away Wednesday.

He was born January 13, 1938 in Buffalo, SC. He was the son of the late Curtis Stephen Treadway Sr. and the late Pauline Walker Treadway. He retired from Metro Brokers as a realtor after serving in the Douglas County area since September of 1965.

"He was a kind and gentle man, who will be greatly missed," his obituary reads.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Stephen Treadway; stepson, Walter Person; brother, Bobby Treadway; and one nephew. 

He is survived by his wife, Catherine “Cathy” Ann Oberleitner Treadway of Lithia Springs; sister, Anne Lancaster of Buffalo, SC; brothers and sister-in-law, Curtis Treadway of Aiken, SC, and Doug and Sarah Treadway of North Augusta, SC; daughter-in-law, Brenda Molinet; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Terry and Melinda Oberleitner of Breaux Bridge, LA; one granddaughter, Brittany Altamirano; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services were held Saturday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Treadway may be made to 1814 N. County Line Road, Lithia Springs, Georgia 30122). According to the family’s wishes, he was cremated.
