Dick Williams Dies at 66

The Powder Springs man retired from the Cobb County Fire Department after 25 years of service.

Richard “Dick” Williams, a 66-year-old retired Cobb firefighter from Powder Springs, died Saturday, according to his obituary from the Mayes-Ward Dobbins Funeral Home.

Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the home, with Rev. Matthew Tiakham Jr. officiating. Interment will be at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. 

Williams retired in January 2000 from the Cobb County Fire Department after 25 years of service. He was a member of Hiram Seventh Day Adventist Church. He owned and operated Georgia Cypress Log Homes Inc. for 20 years.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Karen Williams of Pell City, AL; one daughter, Megan Williams of Powder Springs; four sisters; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
