Polly Brooks Dies at 77

The grandmother was an active member of Macland Baptist Church, where she was involved with the choir, the W.O.M., Vacation Bible School and her Sunday school class.

Virginia Pauline “Polly” Brooks, 77, of Powder Springs, passed away on Wednesday, July 4, 2012.

Funeral services were held Saturday at with Dr. Richard Walker officiating. Interment followed at Kennesaw Memorial Park.

A native of Smyrna, Mrs. Brooks moved to Powder Springs in 1970. She was an active member of Macland Baptist Church, where she was involved with the choir, the W.O.M., Vacation Bible School and her Sunday school class.

She was also a member of the Cheatham Hill Community Club and the Campbell Girls Alumni Group.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Eva Austin.

Survivors include husband Harold E. Brooks of Powder Springs; children Penny Bohrn and husband Eric of Burke, VA, Kris Brooks and wife Shannon of Marietta, and Amy Panter and husband Thomas of Dallas; sister Corine Cates and husband Walter of Smyrna; grandchildren Kayla O’Hara and husband Luke, Kassi Brooks, and Madison Panter; and many nieces and nephews.
