Robert McDowell Dies at 66

Robert L. McDowell, a 66-year-old Powder Springs man, died Sunday.

Visitation is tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Clark Funeral Home, according to his obituary.

Funeral services are set for Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Jeff Vaughn and Pastor John McDowell officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Cedartown, GA.

The son of the late Samuel and Connie Mae McDowell, he was born Aug. 7, 1945, in Cedartown, GA. He was a self-employed construction worker.

McDowell was a member of the .

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Allen McDowell; sons and daughters-in-law, Roby and Sandra McDowell of Dallas, Shawn and Mary McDowell of Dallas, and Scott and Linda Smith of Akron, OH; daughters and son-in-law, Shannon Smith of Hawaii, Shanie and Victor McCarty of Marietta, GA, and Shay McDowell of Cedartown, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Linda McDowell of Acworth, GA, Bill and Marie McDowell of Powder Springs, and Johnny and Francis McDowell of Douglasville; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty and Gene Thomason of Powder Springs, and Lucille Phillips of Pace, FL; three grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
