Tommy Williams, Korean Vet, Dies at 80

The family will receive friends at Sam Clark Funeral Home in Hiram today from 4 to 8 p.m.

Tommy R. Williams, an 80-year-old Powder Springs man, passed away Thursday.

The family will receive friends at Sam Clark Funeral Home in Hiram today from 4 to 8 p.m., according to his obituary.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from Mountain View Park Cemetery in Marietta. Jamie Gravett, Justin Gravett, Dana King, Casey King, Shane Brewer, Kevin Brewer and Avery Williams will serve as pallbearers.

Williams was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was born in Lyons, GA, on January 14, 1932, and was preceded in death by his parents, John Thomas Williams and Nannie B. Woods Williams; first wife, Alma Jean Smith Williams; second wife, Clara Jane Williams; and third wife, Elizabeth F. Poole Williams.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Teresa and Gordon King of Dallas, and Kathy Meyer of Dallas; sons and daughters-in-law, Rex and Ellen Williams of Dallas, and Alan and Lycia Williams of Kennesaw; sisters, Jeanette Smith of Cartersville, and Mary Lou Schroeder of Cartersville; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
