Accused California Teacher Dies from Possible Suicide

A California teacher was found dead in his car Monday of an apparent suicide after being arrested last week for allegedly committing a lewd act on a former student.

James Izumizaki, 28, had taught sixth grade and was an athletic coach at Albany Middle School since 2008. He had been tentatively scheduled to appear in court for an arraignment on Oct. 24.

Police: Missing Teen Left Voluntarily, Wasn't Abducted

A New Jersey police chief said authorities are certain that based on information they found overnight, a missing teenager left her home voluntarily and no abduction took place. 

Kara Alongi, 16, had tweeted about 6 p.m. Sunday: "There is somone in my hour ecall 911."

Police Searching for Minnesota Couple Charged with Beating Girls

Nationwide arrest warrants have been issued for a Minnesota couple accused of beating toddler girls—ages 2 and 3—with a belt, causing the younger one to suffer a brain injury.

Carlton Raymond Lewis II, 23, and Ashley Marie Roff, 24, who live in Apple Valley, are named in arrest warrants.

Police interviewed two people who said they had seen bruises on the girls in April, including “significant and pronounced” bruising on the 3-year-old’s right calf, upper right thigh, inner thighs, back, arms and buttocks. Both witnesses said the girl told them that “Carlton” was responsible for the bruises. Read more...
