Counterfeit Bill Turns Up at Dairy Queen

The customer told police he received the $10 as change at the Cracker Barrel at the Thornton Road exit.

An employee of the Powder Springs told police he received a counterfeit $10 bill from a customer on Wednesday.

Police were dispatched about 9:30 p.m. to the restaurant at 3913 Austell-Powder Springs Road, according to a report. The employee said the customer, a Hiram man, tried to pay for food with the bill at the drive-thru window.

The employee said he checked the bill and it turned out to be counterfeit.

The customer told police that he received the bill as change from the at the Thornton Road exit off Interstate 20.

The bill was placed into evidence at the Powder Springs Police Department, the report says.
